I'm glad snobby Carson snitched! If he hadn't, Cora would have missed seeing the joy on her daughter's face in that moment.

Cora once again proving how she was one of the best characters. Sybil's willingness to forgo social norms and respect everyone as equals came from Cora. Cora was a course nervous about Sybil becoming a nurse because of the things she'd have to witness but then she sees her baby working hard learning a skill that would help others and she was just completely proud. I love this moment

My mother didn't know how to cook when she was first married. She burst into tears one day at the butcher's. He arranged to write instructions on every cut of meat she bought and had delivered. She was so grateful and taùght me to cook.

The reaction of Mrs. Patmore was so pure “Of course it’s ready!” is something she would have said to any novice cook.

Kinda take for granted how good the acting was in this series. Just look at Cora’s growing smile-the surprise, delight, and pride, and in a way you see from a mother.

It's my favourite scene. I wish we had more Sybill.

Carson is by far the most conservative man of this whole household.

Sybil was the best of them. I just adored her. I wish she had a few more seasons.

You can see the actual emotion on Cora's face. Elizabeth McGovern is such a wonderful actress. I really love her.❤❤

We all must remember that Cora was an American and therefore was a bit more open to the expanding role of women.

Love this scene so much! Sybil was probably the most "American" of Cora's daughters, I just loved her. She was my favorite Crawley sister, I'm STILL crushed over her.

Carson is ratting out Lady Sybil for making a freaking cake 🤣🤣🤣.

The way Cora said Don't give me away because he was tattling was hilarious 🤣🤣🤣

I can imagine that after Sybil death, this may rank as Lady Cora most cherished memory.

Only Cora can put Carson in his place with genteelness and grace. 😊

I recently revisited each series of Downtown Abbey, episode by episode, whilst in bed from pneumonia. I had forgotten how brilliantly it covered so many historical facts in every series. It really was a lovely production.

The characters were also so perfectly played. I enjoyed it immensely. My one Grandmother, and her mother was ‘in service’ so there was many things that acted as a trigger to my memory of things that she told us about when I was a child, and some of kitchen items that she has held onto since those days, as she was not keen on new “fangled things”.

Thank you to all that were involved in making this, I really did enjoy it from beginning to end.

Best wishes to all.

Teresa. (UK).

As a mother myself, I can imagine how wonderful it felt to watch her daughter to surprise her with such a sweet and thoughtful gesture❤ social norm or not. You can see Cora's expression of complete happiness.
