I so love that you demonstrate with real, live dogs. Unprepared and not perfectly trained is so much more helpful than some vids where the dog is already well trained.

“You have to adjust your expectations.” Love that.

Hi Joel - First a major win for us based on your videos. I have two 15 lb young dogs who are very reactive and beyond incurable about people coming into the house, till yesterday. Based on your videos, I tried something new. A plumber came to our house, a stranger to them and us (not that they are fine with people they know). I let them bark at the window. Then told them 'enough' and to go upstairs and closed the door. More barking behind the door, and I said 'enough' and slapped the door, after which they were quiet. The plumber went back outside to get something. I let the dogs back into the room, now that they were calm. I went outside and made sure they could see me elbow bump the plumber. He then came in the house and this time they milled around like he wasn't even there. He brought in heavy machinery, went up and down to the basement and they literally paid no attention to him. I was completely gobsmacked. Words can not describe how grateful I am for this sea change in their behavior.

However, I have not cracked the code on walking my two dogs together. They do ok separately but with a lot of attention and correction. And other than their reactivity problem, if I walk them on the same side, they are very likely to escalate quickly and then go after each other. So I never walk them on the same side. If you can ever do a video on two dogs that go at each other as part of their reactivity, that would be great. Thank you again. Your videos are brilliant. If I lived on the West Coast I'd bring my dogs in for a session.

I’m so glad I found this video with multiple powerful dogs. The breakdown, step by step instructions was extremely helpful. Thank you

I have a 2.5 year old lab and 13 month old GSD mix. They always have a 10-15 minute over excitement into the walk and eventually calm down and walk relatively well together afterwards. I've been going wrong in going straight out instead of gaining control and attention inside the house! This will help immensely thank you

I have an 11 month german shorthaired pointer. And he's very good. But that energy of excitement can overwhelme him . Your videos have helped so much.

I actually taught my dogs "other side", which prompts them to switch back to the side I was walking them on. I also use this around trees, poles or anything I need them to go around so I don't have to manuver the leash around objects.

I had absolutely no need for this video and yet I enjoy it a ton. This is by far one of your best videos imo.

My 3 large GSD's are 'checking in' on walks but one still walks in front of me (not pulling though). I will take it!! Great stuff....
