What could a police investigation into No 10 lockdown parties mean for Boris Johnson? - BBC News

The Metropolitan Police has launched an investigation into parties held in No 10 during the coronavirus pandemic.

Officers are looking into "potential breaches of Covid-19 regulations" in Downing Street and Whitehall since 2020, Commissioner Cressida Dick said.

She added that the investigation was launched after an internal inquiry led by civil servant Sue Gray passed information to the force.

Boris Johnson’s spokesman said the PM did not believe he had broken the law.

I believe it is not the issue if there was a cake or somebody sung a song, the issue is that Lockdown Rules were imposed on the entire country and the PM, who should be a role model and strictly follow his own laws, obviously violated this. And subsequently people will ask themselves why anyone should follow rules and regulations when these are violated by the Government.

London Met provide 2 police as security for Downing Street which all the invited guests must check in and have bags check and state the purpose of their visit. The guests then must then enter number 10 again they are not allowed in without the consent of the policemen on duty on the front door of Number 10. The list of guests and what they brought in must be checked. This investigation could be completed in about an hour tops.
