Another great video from the Mexico City expert. We live in Tlalpan and get along well. I love how I can walk to church doctors groceries shopping. We even have a couple of tienditas that sell hardware tools behind iron bars. You can get copper pipe pvc pipe any hardware 2 or 3 blocks from my apartment. Mexico city is the best. Thanks for making these videos

Excellent points, especially slowing down, took me a while to get used to a much more relaxed pace of life. But I do enjoy it much more

I have lived in Tijuana for a total of 18 years, without a visa. The visa is a relatively new thing. I am currently living in New Mexico for 10 years and will be moving back in February. Look for apartments or houses without curtains to see empty places to live.
I lived in Tijuana when it was THE MOST DANGEROUS CITY IN THE WORLD, and the military patrolled the streets with 50 caliber machine guns. I never felt any real FEAR, but I speak Spanish fluently and I use my head to avoid problems. Yes, I have been robbed twice and had a third attempt where I took the guy's eye out with a pen. All three times, it was my fault for doing stupid things I knew not to do, in bad areas. Overall it is NOT that bad, just use common sense.

if you are paying such large rent amounts in CDMX then you can remain in the usa with those rents, ; here in Guadalajara here are the costs in the center of town: 300 USD for rent for a posh three room apartment, including water ; electricity 4 USD a month, ( hard to believe but true!); Internet : 18 USD but may go up next year with Mega; Cell phone service: 8 USD for basic service, includes unlimited calls back to the USA/Canada; ; he mentions Chapala as a place to go to for expats, WRONG, that is extremely expensive and USA prices, is that what you want?';; He mentions Walmarts, well down the road from me is Walmarts however Walmarts Mexico is much much more expensive than Walmarts USA; if you are looking for bargains shop in the USA before you get here (especially for vitamins and electronics which are much more expensive than here and as for vitamins not always available)., the dollar and euro have low buying power now as the exchange rate remains low. Its not the bargain it was decades ago.

I lived down there 2013 - 2020. Now, the US is untenable and getting intolerable. I want to move back. But even back when I was there I noticed an increasing
hostile attitude toward Americans. My concern is that that has gotten much worse with all that has happened..?

1:05 Dude make it make sense... you mixed up what you were referencing e.g. total cost or just rent

Jalisco will never be the 51 state of the US. The population of foreign retirees living in Chapala doesn't compare to the population living in the surrounding area. I'm from a town not very far from Chapala . When i travel to my home town i don't see Gringos anywhere on the street, all i see is Mexican. Jalisco is a big state foreign retirees is a insignificant number of people compared to the rest of the Jalisco population.
