How to make a simple leather drawstring pouch / dice pouch

What is that block you put under the leather when you punched the holes?

Can you explain how you thread the drawstring through? Is it just every other hole, in and out alternating?

hey I know the video is a year old at this stage but could answer a question for me?
how thick is the leather you're using and how soft/moveable is it?
and if it's not that soft to start with how do you make is softer?
