-- Video Description --
The user interface, or UI, is how a user interacts with an application. The application doesn’t matter if it’s a computer application, a mobile phone app, or even your microwave oven most applications have some sort of UI component.

An exception can be found in batch applications which run in an automated fashion on set schedules, without the use of a person.

The study of how people interact with computes/apps/etc is called Human Computer Interaction, or HCI. Because it is so important, you will find two different groups of people who will help design your interfaces.

One is UX, or User Experience experts. The other is the UI experts. They do similar roles, and often UI individuals learn a bit about UX by working with them. Depending upon the size and complexity of the app, you may need one, or both groups to make your application easy to use.
