Sony did such a good job removing purchased movies from people's libraries that they decided to share that experience with ALL of the anime community!

I'm really sick of Sony and Microsoft trying to buy every studio. The worst part is it's not even working for them. The studios end up shutting down and gamers take the hit in the long run.

Sony is already one of the biggest Publishers of anime in the West. If they acquire Kadokawa, this means that they will have a monopoly on the anime distribution in the West. This isn't a simple matter, just look at the state of Crunchyroll and Funimation.
This is bigger then Fromsoftware.

The Kadokawa purchase is much more relevant in the context of the anime/ manga industry - Sony already owns Aniplex and Crunchyroll, therefore much of the anime localization and distribution in the West. Kadokawa would be a significant but worrisome acquisition for the industry.
A Monopoly play, essentially. Just not the one gamers are assuming.

I avoided Alan Wake 2’s digital-slop-only release like the plague for about a year. The second they put the physical disc up for preorder, I smashed the buy button. Gee Remedy, maybe more people would have bought your game if you did what you should have done and released it physically AT LAUNCH.

Kadaokawa owns a lot of anime, manga/light novel studios and Sony already owns aniplex, funimation, crunchyroll, rightstuf anime. So please keep them away. My favorite series Re:Zero is a Kadokawa thing and this would give them a monopoly not to mention more fromsoft ownership. They’ve shown their ownership over anime is censored, lazy translations, and hasnt been great. Kadokawa is even behind YouTubers like trash taste

That Sony Acquisition of Kadokawa wouldn’t be good for both the gaming and anime industries, but definitely would have a huge effect on Microsoft and Nintendo. Microsoft losing future ‘Souls’ games would certainly hurt them a lot and Nintendo not having Acquire develop games for them anymore would be huge since Acquire just developed Mario and Luigi: Brothership

I've been watching this man since I was in 7th grade, always the highlight of my day hearing about all the gaming news after school, Spawn wave is so underrated its not even funny you can tell there's a lot of effort and dedication going into this channel!

People all of a sudden worried about anime and Sony becoming a monopoly but their life was all sunshine and rainbows when Microsoft acquired Mojang, Bethesda, Activision and Blizzard.

Sony already has a working relationship with these developers. Demon’s Souls, Bloodborne and Déraciné were all PlayStation exclusives by FromSoftware. Akiba’s Trip, Akiba’s Beat, Rain, Patchwork Heroes and all the “Badman” games were PlayStation exclusives by Acquire Corp. They have also invested money into Kadokawa and FromSoftware.

I swear these Xbox/PC “gamers” are the most entitled people to exist. I would rather have Sony, a company which has proven to be competent enough to launch multiple successful products like PlayStation, Walkman, Bravia, etc., acquire Kadokawa than a nefarious company like Tencent.
