When the brother said “I was peeking to make sure that he wasn’t doing anything to my sister” As a mother my heart sank.

When the 8 year old boy said he was checking on his sister to make sure dad wasn't doing anything to her was a huge red flag for me. Why would an 8 year old have those thoughts about an adult, unless something happened before, either to the boy or his sister. 8 year olds don't usually have those kind of thoughts without some kind of back story.

When I was a little girl, my dad would always tell me to “be careful” at sleepovers. He wanted to know if my friends ‘ dads would be there, and if my friends had brothers. When I asked why, my dad would repeatedly tell me to be careful. I didn’t understand then, but as a teenager, it became crystal clear.

When the brother said he was peeking..to see if dad was doing anything to her...that is huge! Why would the kid think that unless it has happened in the past...he is a monster!! And to threaten the boy to keep quiet...total monster!

This is why, as a father… I NEVER left my daughter alone with ANY other man. I was / am her protector.

I don’t believe in sleepovers, I raised 3 children, I have never let them sleepover nowhere, you have your own house and bed that’s where you will stay period.
People are evil and I don’t trust them with my kids.

Nothing screams guilt like lack of urgency and interest when a child in your care goes missing.

The girlfriend needs to be held accountable too. She was in the living room while the monster was in the room with the little girl. Also she noticed him gone at 3 am with the girl gone and the guy changed, but she didn't call the police.
