4 THINGS you must include in your answer to the TELL ME ABOUT YOURSELF interview question.

#1. Say THANK YOU FOR THE OPPORTUNITY and that you have READ THE JOB DESCRIPTION. Saying thank you at the start of your answer demonstrates good manners, and referencing the job description shows you are fully prepared for what is expected of you in the job role.

#2. Is to quickly list the STRENGTHS you have that will ADD VALUE to their team in the position you have applied for. The top 4 strengths all hiring managers look for are:
• PROBLEM-SOLVING SKILLS;
• GOOD COMMUNICATION CAPABILITIES;
• BEING A SUPPORTIVE TEAM WORKER;
• TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR ONGOING DEVELOPMENT.

#3. Is to then say you are a HIGH ACHIEVER who has a track record of success before giving the hiring manager one example of an ACHIEVEMENT you have gained in your life so far. That achievement can come from your previous job or personal life. 6 good examples of achievements are:

• Delivering outstanding service to customers in a previous job.
• Helping your employer increase sales.
• Helping the company save money by being frugal with supplies and resources.
• Winning team sports events.
• Raising money for charity or volunteering.
• Suggesting new products and services a company can sell to its customers.

#4. The fourth and final thing to say in your answer to the interview question, tell me about yourself, is WHAT YOU WILL DO IN THE ROLE in the first 30 days of starting work. Your plan for the first 30 days of starting work tells the hiring manager you will instantly add value to the company and give them a great return on your salary!

A few months ago I had an interview, and it went well. He told me I would get an email if they decide to hire me or not in 10 days. After 2 weeks, I emailed them to get an update and I was told they had not made any decisions yet, but they will keep me updated. After about nearly 2 months, I decided to email them again as I had not gotten a response. I was very kind in my email, starting with saying "Hello" and "I hope your new year is going great." I was told they would set me up with another interview and to send another copy of my resume and fill out another application. I sent a Cover Letter along with my Resume, and instead of getting a second interview, I was offered the position! After so many interviews and not getting the job, consistency and being a good communicator really helped. I was getting discouraged because I had studied what Richard teaches, but it never paid off until now. So if anyone is getting discouraged, just remember consistency and communication are key, along with what Richard teaches. Good Luck. UPDATE: Lost my job due to distance and not being able to get to the office to complete the training when it flooded. So, there's that.
