Below Knee Amputee Riding a Bicycle

While riding the trail today, I decided to make some videos. We ended up riding a total of just under 10 miles. Not bad, huh?

Hey man, hope you’re doing well.
I lost mine in 96, I biked for years until I had some issues. I was using the pin suspension at that time.
I’m using a suction socket now and it’s so much better. I’m back on my bike, hoping to lose the donut I’ve grown around my waist. It was difficult the first few days but I’m doing well now, I love my bike.
Great way to exercise especially for those of us that don’t like walking.
I hope you put many miles on your bike.

I am a mom of a 20 yr old son and I can only hope he would do half as good as you did, you are truley amazing and I don't think anyone will ever look at you as being disabled or handicapped. I look at you as a precious gift from God, he choose you to help other who aren't quiet as strong as you are. Keep up the good work.

Yeah that's exactly why my sleeve is rolled down. This was the first time I ever tried riding since the accident and I could barely bend the knee enough to peddle. I honestly didn't think I'd be able to go very far before we'd have to stop, then I said "Hmmm..." and rolled my jeans up, rolled my sleeve down, and viola. I was riding my bike. But I don't have any special peddle. I just kinda used the force of peddling to keep my foot firmly in place. It slipped only twice in 10 miles.

Thank you. I spray painted the metal part black so it'd look cooler, but normally they're just plain silver metal color.
