Loved all the snubs & metaphors & glad you posted this! Explaining all the car commercial fine print Adobe tries to sweep under the rug to trick you into signing up is invaluable. I can't tell you how many times DAILY that they send me emails trying to get me to sign up to CC. It's disgusting 😒

Once again. Great advice. I used Lightroom & Photoshop for years. I too cut the cord when they came up with their monthly plan. So glad I did. Once I got over Adobe, I never found the need.

Rental is the wet dream of salesmen and company accountants : steady income instead of ups and downs, and no more work except counting the incoming money. Same with Microsoft and their 365 subs software. These companies' problem is they reach a point where it is hard to find more improvements to sell "upgrades", eg my word processing requirements were already met years ago, in WordPerfect's day.

More and more I'm glad I switched to Linux for a lot of things. I did like Adobe software, integration of all the programs was top notch. But between the way that they are going with Win 10, even more so from what I have been reading with the latest update, and how Adobe has been going from what 2014 on. Just no bueno to stay with Win/Adobe, but that's just me. Most know I am a little off my rocker as it is.

I had plan 1 for a while. After I cancelled 9 MONTHS later they started to bill my CC AGAIN !!! I had to go to the Bank and get a new card to STOP them from billing me

Since I decided to use Affinity Photo and cut the cord to CC I have many problems less and a good Software more. I love Affinity and didnt need more. Your Vid will help many photographers to quit they dependence expensive but less and less innovative products. 👍

I hate not having a disk i own as it makes us at their mercy. We started editing one day on a film and there was no audio. Adobe had had a falling out with Dolby (took 3 hours on phone to be told this) and no audio with the Dolby filter would work anymore and all had to be replaced. Pain in the arse and put us behind. They can change it every time we open it and that's not right.

Dear Jay, I do pay for Adobe ( I use more than Photoshp and Lr) but, there is a time during the year, when I receive their email, letting me know that there will be a renewal, so, if I wanted to give up on Adobe, that's my time to finish the contract, other wise, it's another full year of expenditure! Even though I have used lots of other softwares, I still use Photoshop more than Affinity, as to be honest, I still don't understand Affinity quite well... On the other hand, I started using some of the video software, so in fact, I am taking quite a profit for my annual payment, and yes, it's not cheap, but the reset of the programs are getting a bit more expensive as well . In a market that doesn't grow and is reaching saturation one cannot rely on new sales. Innovation, in terms of generally useful features also has its limits. So I understand the subscription model. What I do not understand is why the fees are so high when one has the whole world as a client base. Make it 2USD a month and I will subscribe, at 20USD no way.

Sadly I have to use InDesign. I work with that file format a lot and I have to send in my completed work in that format too.
