This video is about texting and driving. It was produced by TranterGrey Media out of Evans, Ga. WJBF News Channel 6 and One Hour Optical paid for the production. I added the text for the hearing impaired by request.

This is a message to everybody who thinks that texting and driving is ok as a firefighter I have seen a couple of these crashes already and they are not fun to be on so always think twice about picking up that cell phone well behind the wheel so please DO NOT TEXT AND DRIVE SAVE NOT ONLY YOUR LIFE BUT

I don't understand people who think texting and driving is ok.. there is NOTHING ok with it.. Since when did looking at a f*cking screen become more important than watching the road? Learn to control yourself, you don't need to even look at your phone when you drive.

It was my first time seeing this PSA, and let me tell you, it definitely pulled my heartstrings and grabbed my attention. Too many people are distracted by texting while driving. If you think you can multi-task, it is not a good idea. You don't know what other drivers are doing. Plus, you never know what you might do, like accidentally drop your phone and instinctively try to pick it up WHILE driving.

people are so stupid. how can you not put down your phone for a small length or even a long length of time? I don't understand. ask someone in the car to text someone for you. this makes me so angry

This is so common and likely a frequent thing these days, hopefully with much different endings, but not just inexperienced young people text and drive! Pull over if the message is important, out of traffic and other possible hazards. Very effective message and I wish something of equal attention could be produced as I would air it on my station; some messages are good but radio never hits home like TV!

Such a sad reality that is so simple to avoid. Just as the forest fire campaign of my childhood said "only you can prevent forest fires" the same goes for texting while driving!

I hope this woke some people up to just how dangerous it is. It's actually far, far more distracted than being on the phone or changing the radio station. I've never understood how texting while driving became normalized anyway, it's actually really scary how common it is. Imagine if playing a Game Boy while driving was normalized. It's almost the same thing.
