Awesome tips. One thing I've done recently is to save my WLP tubes, sanitize them, and refill them with the yeast and starter solution right before I pitch it onto what I'm about to brew.

All good stuff. My issue is that I change beer styles like I change my underwear, so saving yeast isn't much help to me nor is having a freezer full of 10+ different types of bulk hops. I do, however, have sealed buckets full of grains that I use most often.

1. Try ebay for hops, you can always find some hop cheaper than the rest usually in bulk
2. Malt your own pale ale malt on a lazy weekend, it's not hard, search youtube for instructions
3. Optimize your brewing and/or chilling process, you're going to save on chilling water if you recirculate it with your chilling coil from an ice filled sink
4. For hop heavy beers that you're experimenting with, try lower quality malts, they're going to give you a good idea of what you're working it and will help you refine your recipe before switching to the good stuff.
5. If you can afford it, buy your malt in bulk, damn that thing's cheaper per kg in 50kg bags (base malts are a good investment in that respect)
6. Dry yeast is cheaper than liquid, but harder to inifinately cultivate, so chose wisely depending on what your aims are
7. Sing up to every newsletter from every homebrew online vendor that delivers to your area for a reasonable price, they have clearance sales and they're usually amazing

And I think that's all I got in addition, it's not much of a save but it might help. Keep brewing !

Great suggestions, I need to get a few supplies so I can start to wash my yeast going forward but that is in the plans already! Yeast has by far been the most expensive part of brewing for me.

Buying local hops of season can be cheaper at times if over loaded my company stone lizard hops ended up w 35lbs of a mix of glacier, nugget, and cenn for 10 to 7 bucks a lb. Hops oxidize and get unstable above 32degrees after they have setfrom cure. If you have local farmers ask them what they have thats in bulk odds are they are going to throw you alot cheap especally local

If you dry hop, save the hop gunk and use it as bittering hops for your next beer.

You can start saving money by having a basic equipment setup if your just a home brewer, I have used a simple pot for many years. Why spend thousands on all the equipment from companies like clawhammer. My friend spent 10's of thousands on equipment and my beer is better than his!

I really like these tips, but I wish you would go into more detail about the storage and expected lifespan of perishables. For example I already store my hops in the freezer, but I just use foil and plastic resealable sandwich bags to keep the hops from getting freezer burn - is there a "best" method for wrapping frozen hops? And how long do you think they will last in the freezer? I know that their flavour and aroma reduces over time but how significantly over what kind of time frame? Same goes for grain - it would be interesting to hear your thoughts on best storage conditions (temperature, humidity, etc) and timespan.
I know you probably wanted to keep this video short and sweet for impact, but there is so much conflicting information around it would just be interesting to hear your point of view
