NTA. His parents are gay-haters and if they knew from the start, they might’ve might try pulling something the second that boy was born to get him removed from his lesbian parents

Plus, by the definition of adoption, he would technically be your son. Regardless of blood relations. The fact they never cared or were willing to provide for that boy before discovering who the genetic father was proves their love and affection is completely conditional.

That kid had dodged a bullet and learned that people like them aren’t forth excessive energy to deal with if they never cared to begin with.

(Note: I’m saying this from the position of having a married lesbian cousin(who’s wife I thought was her sister but that’s because I first met her girlfriend back when I was like 4-5 years old (24 now) at a family Christmas thing. So I’ve been referring to her as a cousin for years before I realized she wasn’t really my cousin but that was after they got married… so either way, she’s definitely my cousin already). My aunt and uncle consider their two adopted daughters as their grandchildren instantly. No hesitation. So hearing the opposite for those people? No way. So yeah, OP’s parents aren’t great grandparents.😒)

Op is the kindest man. It warms my heart when he said his "original" parents at the end❤
God bless his family🧿

Sue for grandparents rights for an 18 year old 😂😂😂

NTA. Those 'parents' would have blown up at the beginning if they knew he was going to be the donor. OP did the right thing.
Nate is also awesome for figuring it out and playing his family 😅

Ridiculous utterly ridiculous. Obviously they are bitter they didn’t get to try to brainwash the boy against his parents. It’s bs and I wouldn’t give them a lick of attention.

Even if your parents accept your son is actually your biological son, it doesn’t change the fact that his parents were gays. They’re gonna keep treating like a second class citizen amongst their grandchildren anyway. Old dogs can’t learn new tricks. So, you are correct about keeping him away from them and NTA.

In the 50 years of my life I've never heard of grandparents rights, the funny part is that I'm married and have a kid. Is this an actual thing or some made up bullshit?

Overly cruel? There wasn’t even a hint of cruelty what story did your sister hear/ have you left something out?

NTA If takes him being your biological child for them to care for him then they don’t deserve him.

NTA at all, also I am SO HAPPY that the full video has the same voice as the short for once

They cannot sue for grandparents rights because unless the child says there is a relationship between the two there is no chance of winning that lawsuit.

Nta and how can you possibly sue for grandparents rights with an 18 year old its legally his choice but even still in some states you've had to have proven that you cared for that grandchild and supported them for some time and they were suddenly ripped away i had to deal with that with my daughter and her paternal grandmother she tried to sue for grandparents rights but she only saw my daughter on my convenience and never helped in any way i went just to humor her and her smug smile turned to tears as she was laughed out of court

NTA. Even if Nate wasn't OP's bio son, that'd still be their grandchild through adoption.

NTA. Your parents can't get mad because of your oldest being your biological kid. They already hated your bestie and made it a point to hate your oldest as well. They didn't try to get to know him or try to change for the better. They made it a point to always exclude him so they can't claim "grandparents rights" over a child they never wanted to be grandparents of anyway.

As they say "you made your bed. Now lay in it"

NTA. Sounds like a case of the parents being called out and not wanting to admit that they did wrong.

Sadly, some show true colors in the dark. OP's parents showed that when they believed that the kid was merely adopted (and before that even).
