Microfighter is awesome, not just easy access to Rex, but a republic Y-wing microfighter, but I can honestly see why many people are upset about this set due to feeling like those bought the Venator just for Rex were lied to

As someone who couldn’t afford the UCS vendor, I see this set as an absolute win but I would have loved it even more if it was a normal sized Y- Wing and not a Microfighter

it is simultaneously true it's scummy and bad that Lego touted the at-the-time exclusivity of Rex in the UCS Venator to ruthlessly take advantage of fans with poor impulse control, and also that it's a good thing that little Timmy can get one without taking out a mortgage, and that Lego literally never promised that exclusivity would continue in perpetuity. its also objectively funny that "investors" got screwed hard by this move.

My issue is that any whining about it sounds like elitism, why stop kids from being able to get rex behind a $600 stupid large set when many would just want their favorite character to play with?

Like i get if you bought a $600 dollar set specifically for rex you would be mad, but anybody who did that is also, this may be harsh but, stupid? Fully expecting lego to lock a fan favorite character in a $600 pack forever is dumb and believing massive corporations face value is how you lose money and time.
