Watch out the side effects that may be supported by Berberine!

Berberine is a natural plant compound that has many potential health benefits. Research suggests it may help reduce total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, triglycerides, blood pressure, and glucose levels, as well as improve heart rhythm and increase bone and platelet production in those taking prednisone. It may also help protect the brain, prevent or slow cancer progression, and treat non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. Berberine is a safe and effective dose for adults, with sources from Nutranize Zone, Integrative Therapeutics, Thorne Labs, and Designs for Health brands. However, it should not be taken by pregnant or breastfeeding women or those taking Tacrolimus (Prograf) or Cyclosporine.

2. Studies show Berberine may help to lower blood glucose, reduce total cholesterol, lower LDL cholesterol, lower triglycerides, improve heart rhythm, reduce blood pressure and help build bones.

I’ve been on prednisone since diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis in 1973 (age 10) then SLE lupus in 1975. Today I’m down to a low dose of 10mg daily…any lower I get fatigue/weakness! I gained over 45 lbs in the last 2 years after being retired and not as active during the pandemic. I am taking amlodipine (5mg) for BP. Going to try the Berbertine
