From Sydney to Paris, famous landmarks around the world are turning off their lights to express climate action solidarity for Earth Hour.

For over 15 years, the world has been taking part in this initiative — but it’s about more than just going dark.

What is the message behind the symbolism and how else can people participate?

Global News' Jaden Lee-Lincoln speaks with the CEO of WWF-Canada about the different ways the organization is encouraging people to participate in Earth Hour.

Wonder why the WWF has not called out the sabotage of Nord Stream 1/2, and where is the demand for the environmental and aquatic carnage caused by the terrorist act, and finally where are all those climate looneytunes demanding answers. 😂

Earth Hour is a good time to test all of my lights simultaneously. 💡

I turn off my lights everytime I go to bed and that's 8 hours usually. Or don't have them on during the daytime. I think I've done my part already

Well I would think with inflation cost of living carbon taxes etc. that would be further incentive. Some people are just raised differently too develop habits of reduce reuse and recycle. Did your parents not tell you to turn off the lights and tv when you are not in the living room or to shut the door you are letting all the heat out etc? mine did. Poor people know how to fix things because they can't have a new one every year and it's wasteful they shop second hand because it's good as new without the packaging they take the bus because gas and insurance costs too much. It's a lifestyle.
