I put a lot of effort into gathering all of the details, information, and imagery in this video, so I hope you can find time to grab a coffee or tea, get comfortable, and enjoy.

The overhead light is for cleaning and searching something only.

I completely agree about adding vintage pieces. So many decades of style to choose from and ways to incorporate. And LIGHTING yes! The lighting dept at IKEA is a great space to get an idea of different tones and intensities. ❤

Scandinavian culture is definitely all about cosiness because for half the year it is cold and dark, so they have found ways to make the best of it. Take Danish hygge or Swedish fika, it's all about intentionality, mindfulness, and appreciating the little moments. And this translates into their design. Even the cities here like Copenhagen and Stockholm have a distinctly cosy feel to them. I've lived in Denmark before and now live in Sweden and I would not want to live anywhere else in the world (I have yet to live in Norway but I will do that at some point).

Thank you for these. We have the same style at home and same principles. I just kept nodding throughout the video. I ask myself “What’s my style?” I think it’s eclectic, a mix of what I love from different trends.

It’s of mid-century, traditional, boho, cottage, Japandi, etc. I mixed minimalism with maximalism, modern with vintage, muted tones with pops of color. Once I stopped being strict and enjoyed the trends, my rooms stopped feeling pretentiously “themed”, and began being deeply “organic”.

I just wish Japan has more vintage pieces like in the West. It’s hard to find good stuff here.

Good tips, agree with all. I also feel that having a variety of furniture makes a room cozy, like an oak hutch, and a white coffee table, it adds interest to the room, instead of everything matching in color.

You're very right about the overhead light! I dislike turning the bright lights on ESPECIALLY in the morning or night. I always have my cozy rock salt lamps on and my hanging lights. Not long ago I got these Himalayan rock salt tea light holders which really fill in what you said about scattering ambiance 😄

I generally agree with all the things you ve said. However, one can create a cozy home by using a few cool toned colours and it s all about the balance. And the result can be much more interesting by the contrast of cool tones and warm tones. Like the contrast of warm light in the "blue" hour
or a cloudy scenery in nature . It can be cozy if you use the right elements. The light of course and the unique pieces are super important, like you mentioned.

Your place is an absolute dream, wow! I just moved to Switzerland and I have been collecting vintage pieces over the years from different places. Also one thing that I recommend when it comes to hanging pictures is framing vintage post cards or posters. I got one poster off Facebook marketplace with California poppies on it when I actually lived there the last 3 years and now it's not only a great picture but also it's connected to a place and it contains memory which I believe is also super important to making places more homey or cozy.

Hanging art really adds a lovely quality to a space. Made myself some prints (originally to sell) but now I’m thinking I wanna keep them😂😂

This was great, I really like the fragrance cabinet and the shelf under the tv. The atmosphere thing is so true. Can't wait to have my own place and have full control on how to furnish it haha
