Bomba, a traditional dance and music style in Puerto Rico, emerged around the 16th century, mixing sounds brought by enslaved Africans with those of Indigenous Taíno. “It’s a fingerprint of Puerto Rico,” John Leguizamo says.

I just love my culture, although I was born and raised in Buffalo New York I used to always talk to my grandmother she was telling me about the culture, now my grandmother is from Spain she moved to Puerto Rico at a young age and quickly adjusted to the culture I love you and miss you and thank you for all the wonderful stories of Puerto Rico

Not Tainos but Boricuas from the island of Boriken. Taino was given to the indigenous by the colonizers. I am not what the colonizers gave to me. I reclaim my origins my roots and my culture.
