A year ago I took a brand new Carhartt and turned it into a waxed canvas/tin cloth jacket. After 365 days of use the question is would I do it again? This is the follow up and my answer to that question.

"That dirt and grime adds more character"
And that's exactly why I choose to never bathe.

hello, I’m Japanese.
I like American work jackets, so your videos are very interesting for me.

I'm going to do this to a duster coat very soon. I'm tired of getting wet and cold. Thanks for the video!

Did the same with mine this year after watching this video. Cheers mate. Worked out great, I used a barbour wax and a budget wax. Waterproof, windproof and warm. Ready for the winter

I did this to my Carhartt just like your first video and it turned out great! Thanks for the follow up video!

Great video, just disappointed that they stopped making the leather carhartt logos

I just treated my first Carhartt jacket after retiring my first from 2015 of hard use without a wax finish. The biggest thing I have noticed from an unwaxed coat verses a waxed coat is that the waxed version is the ultimate dog hair collector. I have two Australian heeler. The waxed version sure does smell good and looks good even with a fur and wax treatment. Thanks for the video.

I got a jacket from goodwill for $5 that looks like a carhartt, just considerably thinner and lighter. It's going to be perfect for this treatment!

I looked at your previous video and this one. Recently heard of tin cloth and now thinking to get a Duluth jacket and try this process on it. Thanks for the info.

I found an old LL Bean Field Coat with wool liner at a local thrift shop (in a tall!) and I'm planning on waxing it. Just something about that waxed canvas...

I have a waxed unlined filson field coat that is great but it’s really just an outer shell for when I layer up. Been tempted to do this to my carhartt

I just waxed bibs w/ Barbour. I found applying the wax @275*F was waaaay easier, faster & more consistent/thorough.

Damn. This really made a huge difference. My baby brothers Carhardts looked much worse than this after much less time. Wish I had known this. Thank you for sharing!

I’ve been wearing mine for over 15 years. Color is a little faded and there’s some light fraying around the wrists, but it’s still going fine.

Amazing thing is I had investigated this a couple of weeks back and earlier tonight I had been thinking about those very subjects. Guess this big rainstorm triggered it.

Good video, yes that jacket is very cool. I recently bought a Fjallraven Providda hiking pants made of their G-1000 material. I waxed it down with Greenland wax they make and did the hot air over them. Really fun process of waxing, can’t wait to put them to the test too.
Again nice video, Thank you for putting this kind of content out their.

For years, Carhartt made things in the US. Wonder why they never offered this from the factory. Does have me thinking about buying a used Filson or Barbour off ebay (under $100)...or same but Carhartt for half the price and wax myself. Thanks for making the vids

Lovely video man. I've been able to use it to help explain the waxed canvas anorak I'm making for people

I just bought all the stuff to do this. My cousin said he had a wax treatment on his jacket before. And liked it. But once it started to get a little dirt and grime it would transfer it to furniture to his truck seat real bad. I’m still gonna try it out though. Maybe he didn’t keep his as clean. He does to a lot of shop work too.
