I think it's possible they were, should of had them examined by computer facial analysis system rather than the museum dude guesstimating.

Mark: "You hardly ever see any photos of the James gang in existence"
Also Mark: "But i can tell you how close his ears were to his eyes"

whenever Rick says something is the holy grail of whatever it is, it's not.

Everybody's ears are lined up with their eyes, the person on the photo had his head tilted down, that's why they apear higher than the eyes.I cannot believe the 'expert' said that.

I'd definitely start looking for a 2nd and even a 3rd opinion.

Asking $60k for a photo, stores it in between a paper towel 🤣

Little Known Fact: the historian waited outside the pawn shop and offered the man $12, 000 for the photos.

Many of the comments talk about using facial recognition software to examine the photos further, but I think this is a case where it will be almost impossible to prove the photos are of the famous outlaws. The software could probably rule out a match if the eyes, ears, etc. didn't match, but even if they did match, you still just could have a couple of dudes that look like the James brothers. There is probably not enough photographic evidence to match the photos beyond a doubt. Having said that, what are the chances these are photos of the James brothers? Very slim, for sure, no way this guy is ever seeing a big payday, unfortunately for him.

I'd get a second opinion on lots of things that come into that shop. Some of these "experts" leave you asking questions

Mark said 'The ears and the nose don't change much' tell that to a boxer.

Wouldn't an appraiser who works as a museum administrator use appraiser tools and equipment like say oh I don't a MAGNIFYING GLASS ?!?!? 🤤

I would like to see this guy find that they ARE real! Good luck, mister.

Legend has it he is still trying to prove they are real.

I would go with what Mark says on almost everything if I had to spend money on something. Was fun to watch. Great video

Different head positions in a photo will make the ears appear higher or lower as compared to the eyes. He can't say for sure just by looking at the photos. This guy needs REAL experts who will use computer software to tell if they may or may not be real.
