Here's the clear cut logic behind this:
consider the two numbers to be multiplied are "x" and "y"
consider, x=ab and y=ac (where a, b, c are digits i.e if x=24 and y=26 then, a=2, b=4, c=6)
then x * y = ab * ac
=( 10a+b )*(10a + c)
= (100*(a^2)) +(b*c) + 10(a* c) +10(a*b)
=(100*(a^2)) +(b*c) + (10*a*( b+c))
\\\( given condition that sum of unit digits is 10 then b+c =10)\\\
=(100*(a^2)) +(b*c) +100*a
=(100*(a^2) +100*a) +(b*c)
=a*(a+1)*100 +(b*c)
the above result signifies that the product b*c occupies last two digits and product a*a+1 will be the first digits
