In this video I take the Arbor Westmark Rocker and Westmark Camber and put them head to head. I believe these are two of the most ideal snowboards to compare for a rocker vs camber test because they are true rocker and true camber, not hybrid whatsoever, and they otherwise share all of the same technologies. This is perfect because the only significant difference between them is the camber profile. I found the Westmark Rocker to have a looser, more forgiving feel to it and was also more fun for doing butters and presses. The Westmark Camber has a more powerful and precise feeling, offering more pop, response and stability and just an overall more energetic feel. At the end of the day I thought both of the boards were really fun, I hope that this video helps you to decide between getting a rocker or camber snowboard. Let us know if you prefer rocker or camber in the comments! Thanks for watching.

Just bought a Westmark camber. I have nothing but good things to say about it. Much more responsive than anything I've ridden...especially my ex...boom tish

That side-by-side action is a hit. And you bring finesse to simple tricks.

I like how u put the comparison of the two board going down the same run at the end. Really helps showing what each board can do!

I have learned and rode camber styles board for the first 5 years of my snowboarding experience. After snapping my Salamon assassin pro 155 2017, all-out camber a few weeks back I found a replacement for cheap. I am now riding a 156 gnu carbon credit btx rocker snowboard. I have only had the chance to ride this board once so far. However, after my first impression I can say that I love the Rocker style snowboard and If you love snowboarding, you should have both just to switch between them. Nonetheless, after my first day out with the rocker, I was highly impressed. I was surprised by the pop that the board produced. I was able to fly over the bamboo rods just beside the side hits with ease. The board wants to turn on a dime. It may not be as stable as a camber board but it contributes to that loose truck feel that a lot of skaters and boarders thrive for. The shape of the board helps to take the stress off of the legs when riding in deep or heavy snow. You feel less stuck down and the board always wants to pop and turn. Butters are easy to initiate but harder to lock-in. It is easier to spin into and out of butters but harder to hold high and strong.

This is hands down the best video I've seen running a side by side showcasing the benefits and drawbacks to each camber profile. Both these boards sell great in our shop but qualifying the rider correctly is totally important.

Thanks for the awesome review TJ. I have been looking for this direct comparison of the Westmark (rocker and camber). I appreciate the work that you and Kevin put into your reviews and your other videos. Keep lighting it up!

I started off with a flat board, then went to a camber. Being a noob at the time I didn't have the muscles or skills to learn to press well on the camber. Then went for a rocker, loved it, learned to press properly. After that went back to camber boards, by that time I had mastered snowboarding well enough to really enjoy a camber board. So I would recommend people to start of on a rocker and when you get good on that move to camber.

This video was surprisingly well done. It looked as if the Camber was more sturdy and could hold a lot of tension before a jump or pop. I honestly might just go with a Camber.

love the side hits. This video is much more fun to watch than those heavy backcountry jumps in most snowboard movies.

TJ has gotten so clean and steezy with his rail game since I first started watching the ProCamp channel. Just locking in those lip slides like they are nothing, kinks, drops, hand rails, you name it. Cheers Kevin & TJ, you guys rip! Tryna get my lip slides locked in on some kinks like that!

Great video. Very helpful. Thank you. Your nose grind on the tube with the rocker was dynamite. One can even tell by your reaction that you could feel that you nailed it. I have ridden Burton camber since I started riding back in 2000. I didn’t know there was anything but full camber until recently. I always wondered how some riders looked so much more fluid, smoother and surfier out there. I understand now that Rocker and camber have such different strengths. Showcasing the boards on the same run was great and taking it even further with the side by side split screen was brilliant. I was able to see what each board shape brings to the table. So drastically different a style despite ones ability level. The rocker seems ideal for fun, laid back, surfy riding. The Camber for more control and more speed. Now I know why some snowboarders have a quiver of boards depending on the type of terrain/riding you want to do. I noticed companies are experimenting with different hybrid combination rocker camber boards as of late. Thanks to this video, and a few more on youtube, I have decided having two different boards would be ideal for me. Snow conditions, the hill I am at, how I want to ride at that moment, who I am riding with will determine which board I grab. First board in the quiver will be a burton hometown hero for free riding. It has mostly camber with rocker in the nose. Engineered for free riding. Ideal for the technical terrain, tighter turns, when I want speed, in the trees, powder, blues and blacks, when I want to go edge to edge and carve aggressively, if I want to ride hard. Second board a burton custom flying v. It’s a Rocker/camber hybrid which is mostly rocker. This will be for greens and blues, working on tricks, if I am tired, if my bum knee is acting up, if I am seeking a laid back surfy ride. Camber in the morning, rocker in the afternoon, hot tub at night.

Wow, TJ. Really nice riding on this vid! I’ve seen a lot of your videos and I agree with what’s been said - when you were on the rocker, it looked more fluid and fun. I guess when you’re advanced in your riding, it’s nice to feel the board precisely move with you. Really smooth and high level riding! Inspiring.

Awesome video, nice editing, and exceptional riding style! Wish I could ride like that! I'd like to say you made the decision easier, but you make both look so great! Keep up the good work bro!
