There two scenarios as we all know. Either guilty or hung jury. The inability to distribute the fruits of economy over society is the fundamental weakness of capitalism. Communism is simply extreme capitalism where all the wealth of a country is put into the hands of a small group of people, e.g. in the USSR it was the Politburo. If those small group is criminally inclined, like in the USSR, then poverty ensues. It is interesting to see how the powers that be in China handle their economy. So far, they crack down on corruption and have managed to increase the wealth of ordinary people to a significant extent. The wealth of the nation in the USA is not distributed among its population but among a tiny band of major stockholders and monied moneymen. It is not being reported on, for both Democrats and Republicans are guilty of deep poverty and wide criminality in the American society. Not a popular subject. Perhaps it is time to let think tanks think about a better societal system.
