I had a 21 for over 7 years with no malfunctions or jams using factory glock mags. I clean and oil after leaving the range every time. I don’t doubt that the 1911 is a better weapon but the extra capacity in a double stack mag is always more comforting in a shootout situation

I'm an HK guy, but my father is a Vietnam vet. 2 tours, 68-70. He swears by the 1911 for more reasons than I can list here and honestly after hours at the range I can't argue with him.

1911’s are cool to own for nostalgia purposes, but there are better options. Thing about the Glock is that anything you personally don’t like about it (trigger, shape, grip etc.) you can change and it’s much cheaper, lighter and holds more rounds. If you’re just stuck on the 1911 concept a 2011 would be better. But anyone who purposely carries an 8 round 1911 nowadays is just living out a fudd fantasy.
