Ive never consider a 4080 or 90 for my use case, only a 4070. BUT now im a total noctua fan, ill be upgrading to a whatever noctua 50 series they release.

I get my 4080 super tomorrow and I'm keeping it for as long as I can and possibly never get rid of it. These PC parts are getting to expensive and its becoming slowly not worth building a PC anymore because of it

If you get the 4090, the vram and speed will carry it for a few generations.

Don't upgrade after 1 generation.

I went from 2 x titan z (quad sli) to a 3090ti. Won't be upgrading for a long time.

nah it would be hard to sell a 4080s and 4090 in used market by the time you want to upgrade since

A. its still expensive for most people who go on used market to save money on gpu and most enthusiast will be looking at 5080 and 5090 already

B. selling much much at lower will be a great loss of money, so you dont want that

C. waiting for 5000 series will be a long wait because it is expected that stocks will be so minimal that scoring an order feels like winning a lotto instead of winning the money you are actually losing lol

4080s and 4090 is still good for years to come heck even mid and low end 40 series is still good, if you got money now to buy components you seek like 4090 or 4080 that are readily available then go for it otherwise you are just stressing yourself for the new stuff, eventually in 2 years there will be a new gpu lineup, so stop FOMOing.

By the time 5080 comes(in a few months if not this year), the 4080 Super's used market prices shall drop.
Would be stupid to get one now.
If you REALLY need a new GPU till then, buy something in sub 300$ range.
Like RX6750XT.
When 5080 comes, sell it for 150$ and buy 5080.
Should you buy 4080 Super now only to sell it few months later, your loss shall be significantly higher no doubt.
Or if you are into used, the RTX2080Ti.

Bro used the feature which was created by nvidia for creators. If you are looking somewhere else the program generates eyes which are looking at the cam if anyone was wondering

Wasn’t the 4090’s recently announced to be discontinued? I feel like NVIDIA really blundered here.. and that’s coming from someone who got a 4080 almost a year ago and felt like I overpaid for that too.

The titan and the 90 series were made just that nvidia bragging about having the most powerful gpu on the market so there not much of a value in buying them because for a thousand dollars cheap you could get the 7900xtx or rtx 80/80 super and you wouldn't notice the difference between them and the 4090
