Meet the Anatolian Shepherd - Ultimate Livestock Guardian

Short Anatolian Shepherd description:
It would be a hard task to find a better livestock guardian, than the Anatolian Shepherd. It is in their temperament and personality to independently také the charge and watch over the flock. They are exceptionally strong, so they can protect it even from larger predators. These dogs are still, even today, used for this purpose in Turkey.

But even though it is true, that the Anatolian Shepherd is extraordinary protector, but when they are with their family, they are calm, loyal and pretty laid back dogs. Unless, someone is threating the family, than they will protect it no matter what. Unlike the popular belief, this is actually pretty good family dog, but they should have some work to do as well.

I had two of these wonderful dogs from a Colorado breeding ranch

I saw a friend post a picture of their 2 dogs and asked if they were Anatolian Shepherds.
She said no, Anatolian Mastiffs.
Am I wrong to think they are both the same breed?

Great Pyrenees and Anatolians are 2 of the best dogs. GREAT PYRENEES descended from the Anatolian i think

We have 2 Caucasian Shepherds. So, respectfully, I disagree. BUT, I do think Anatolians are "easier" and less stubborn. So, they are easier to train. This is very important if you don't have experience with LGD (livestock guardian dogs).
