Milly, I hope you realize how far you've come since the beginning of the renovation/restoration! Your confidence level has soared and your carpentry skills are truly impressive! Well done! And, many happy returns to your Mom! Oh, and prayers sent for your bathroom.

I just love the way you two work together, a little irritation, but plenty of acknowledgment, compliments, humor, and caring. I so look forward to Wednesdays.

Seems to me that part of the tension, in this video, is that on top of moving within 5 days AND the bathroom being delayed, you ended up doing the job you knew you had to do, but kept putting off, until you had to do it and you had really not been looking forward to it anyhow and it was STILL annoying to do! 😆

Frankly, I'm impressed that the roof had somehow stayed on the bay all this time and not blown off years ago.

Hi Millie and Louis, wanted to tell you how I admire your courage in undertaking new stuff. And smashing it.

I hope you won't mind me telling about handling natural stone. I'm a restorer of stone slash monumental carver. Thing is with adhesives that these might impede the natural transport of moisture through the stone. For instance, should a block of stone get wet, the water transports downwards until it hits the impenetrable layer of polyester glue. There it sits and a bit of it gets out sideways, but in some cases it could eventually lead to oversaturation of the upper block and then rapid decay. Now luckily the layer is more like dots of glue than a full on thick layer, but preferably the glue is only used as a means to hold some stainless steel, bronze, copper or glass fibre pins in place, in order to connect the pieces, and the layer in between be done with a lime mortar. That said, I don't think you'll get in much trouble, especially as it'll be covered by the roof. But better be safe than sorry of course.

Shame about the flats opposite and loosing the "tower part. Nice work 2x👍
My dad did lead work for years, he worked on some of the big Stately homes building the gutters, rain hoppers and down spouts. He would work the coats of arms in to some of the big pieces.

When I have really crazy angles I use my sewing skills and grab a large piece of card board or I have a 4 ft wide roll of paper and I put it over the angle and draw the lines and use that as a pattern. Then just bring the pattern to the OSB and trace it. Super easy instead of measuring. Great job on that roof! You two are so cute even when you are annoyed with each other. You can really talk things through. That's why you've been together so long. I love how you put your disagreements on camera and how you work out your frustrations. I'm sure it's helpful for people with no relationship skills to learn from. Prayers for your bathroom and Happy birthday to your mom!
