Dad Heartbroken After Losing 2 Dogs. When He Sees B-Day Card Immediately Breaks Down Sobbing

It doesn’t take long for our pets to become part of our families and work their way into our hearts. They become our constant companions, giving us joy, comfort, and love.

When our pets pass away, it is like losing a member of the family. You miss hearing them patter down the hall and feeling them nuzzle up against you. You expect them to greet you when you walk in the door, only to be reminded once again that they are gone.

When James lost his two dogs, Nemo and Lucy, he was heartbroken. The pair had been his constant companions, and some of the light had gone out of his life since they had passed.

Knowing how much he missed them, James’ family came up with a beautiful surprise for him for his birthday.

As he sat on the couch, his daughter handed him an envelope.

“James,” it read, “your birthday gift is about to arrive.”

She told him to read the card out loud, but when he opened it up and saw a picture of a dog on the front, he instantly broke down in tears. He could barely get through the first sentence, so he handed it to his daughter so she could read it to him.

“Hi, my name is Lumo,” the card read. “I am a boy Bichon. No, I am not Nemo, nor can I ever be Lucy. My mommy brought me to bring you some happiness back into your life. So, as we walk in this journey of life together, may we create our own wonderful memories and rekindle the beautiful memories that you had with Nemo and Lucy. Love, Lumo”

As James sobbed on the couch, his wife brought in his birthday present – an adorable little Bichon puppy.

“Now don’t make him upset!” she scolded him.

James tried to pull himself together as he reached for the puppy, overcome with a mixture of grief and joy as he remembered his old dogs and welcomed this new one.

“Hi baby boy,” he told Lumo as he cradled the puppy in his arms.

Lumo seemed to understand just what James needed, quietly snuggling into his arms as his new daddy wept.

While nothing can replace Nemo and Lucy, we’re sure James and Lumo will make a lifetime of wonderful new memories together.
