In this video on Lightroom vs ON1 Photo Raw, I compare the two programs for new photographers to choose for themselves. In this video, I will only be giving a short Adobe Lightroom Overview. ON 1 Photo Raw 2020 is a great program for every photographer, has tools that are not in Adobe Lightroom, and is a great lightroom alternative. My hope is that this video helps anyone looking for photography software to choose the right one for them. By the end of this video, you should be able to answer the question of which photo editor should I get. There is nothing wrong with Adobe Lightroom CC if that is what you choose to get but I love using ON1 Photo Raw 2020 and soon the 2021 version.

So embark on the journey and find out which one is right for you.

Channel description
This channel is all about photo editing and the photography gear used to capture the images. We cover RAW image processing along and help beginner photographers learn how to use their equipment. The photo editing software used on this channel is On1 Photo Raw 2021, Luminar 4 or Adobe Lightroom CC. I also use mobile editing apps on my iPad Pro using my apple pencil. The mobile photo editing apps I use are Lightroom Moblie, and Photoshop for the iPad.

Which program are you going to get? Or if you already have one or both, how do you use them?

i can't even find a built in crop tool on my new MacBook, looking at on1... i have no clue how to use any of it, but my research brought me here (since I don't want to pay monthly for adobe). On1 requires the subcribiton for syncing between mobile app and desktop

Very fair comparison and I agree that if you have the budget, I'd recommend both. That said, though, I look at both products on the basis of a total editing suite. The LR/PS mobile apps allow me to do some pretty sophisticated edits vs the ON1 Photo Raw / ON1 Mobile apps where the mobile app is missing several critical features. To be fair, once the ON1 Mobile app is fully realized that suite will be a force to be reckoned with! And, regarding luminosity masking Tony Kuyper's TK panels in PS provides creation of luminosity masks that are lightyears ahead of anything you'll get in ON1. Sure, many don't need that level of editing capability, but I couldn't live without it.
