Paint like a Pro - How to use a roller

In this episode of Paint like a Pro, Resene paint expert Murdo Shaw shows you how to use a roller. He tells you about the best tools to use, step-by-step techniques to get a perfect finish on your surfaces – and a few tricks of the trade to get you painting like a pro.

You'll need the following:
• Drop cloth
• Paint
• Paint tray
• Paint roller
• Roller sleeve
• Roller pole

Step-by-step instructions:
1. Ensure your roller is evenly coated in paint.
2. Apply the roller to your surface using repetitive ‘V’ shaped motions.
3. Using the roller, complete top to bottom movements, to ensure you’ve got great surface coverage.
4. Make sure you always roll in the same direction.
5. Repeat the process until you’ve achieved your desired finish.
