Doggy poop bag is what we use for our sparkling batter bags, received this tip 10 yrs. ago from a retired painter.

This is all brilliant. I'm a DIYer, and on one hand, this will help me do a better job (even though it won't be perfect), and on the other hand it helps me appreciate what to expect, and why to pay for a professional, when it really matters.

Some good hacks. Thanks for sharing. Don't need brush bag. I've used TIN FOIL for 40 yrs to wrap wet brushes and works great, inexpensive and disposable. Wrap and fold over bristles at top and mold tight over handle a little for a good seal. Replace as needed. I prefer heavy duty. To improve wetness and easy carry I recommend Purdy's wet bag. Put the bag with the brushes or just the brush in the foil in the refrigerator after work if you'll be using it next day. I can keep a brush open for 3-4 days this method. Any longer I recommend cleaning even if you are still working the same color.

I also wrap clean release painters tape around the ferrule and over the heel of the bristles. I cover all the metal. When time to clean peel toward bristles. This will help to block paint from getting into the ferrule which is what stiffens a brush over time and ruins it, and also makes cleaning easier. I have brushes that were handed down from my father who was a painter too who taught me these things that are still in very good shape and still in use.

I've been using hooks on my brushes for a couple years now, I also bend them out just a little to keep the bristles from bending in the bucket. It also is helpful to allow the brush to drip dry before putting it away in the sleeve.

Great tips. I’ve always wondered what the deal was with the spray hose whip. I’ve got to try the cup holder for the brush and bucket. Nothing more maddening than dropping the brush in the bucket. Thanks Chris!

Really liked the patching in the zip lock bag, but actually most impressed by holding the roll of tape on your wrist so simple and obvious but apparently not to me. Great video.

Yo Chris ditch the brush hooks and mount small magnents to your cut buckets. Much like the red purdy cut and mini roller buckets.

I'm happy to see a ringer who organizes brushes like I do. Question: I stripped & painted my kitchen cupboards last summer, why do the items in them still [lightly] stick to the shelves ? Keep the great videos coming !

Thanks Chris. Great tips, all of them. I am an amateur painter with several rentals where I do all the work myself. Your channel is very helpful.
