Not knocking anything but when I come across the "difficult terrain" as you call it, I sometimes take a putty knife and lightly score the wall where it meets the ceiling and it creates a little valley and the brush tip will fall into place! Over a decade of experience here!😊

I think you need more practice, I see that you do it slow and crooked.

I've been painting for years and I finally bought one of these lindbeck ultra pro. It was one of the best brushes I ever used

If it's difficult terrain, caulk around the whole room 1st. Then, you can draw your own line. I feather with the brush. Been painting for over 40 yrs. I use 2 and 1/2 " in sash.

Interesting technique. Depending on the texture will determine what I use 👌

Mate im from the uk and ill be honest the quicker you are the straighter your ceiling line will be for me you leave so much paint at the ceiling line after what you call back rolling in ohio far too much.

2. We call it cutting and rolling off the brush marks as tight as we can to the ceiling not back rolling

3. Back rolling

When a wall is getting painted out to get it as flat as possible with almost no stipple texture at all after cutting and rolling the ceiling line out

To avoid grinning and banding around the room dependant on colour choices of course

Uh... are you really using a sash brush there to cut in?
Try a fat 3-inch cut brush, and you will improve your productivity by 50%. A good cut brush will save you a lot of labor at the end of the day, not to mention a finer finish.
I sure hope your customers are not seeing this.

Do you brush out the heavy bead of paint at the top? Or leave it and let it lay out on its own?..

Rembrandt brushes for walls/ceilings and Picasso brushes for trim.

If it's smooth ya maybe the roller is necessary but u were talking about "terrain" maybe an orange peel so u should be able to feather it out with the brush and not have a hard line
