I was in a dead end job in retail, watching this video, 6 months ago.
I decided to do a short courser at Tech in painting, and now I'm doing my Painting Apprenticeship, and am Loving it!
Thank you for being so into what you're doing and making it enjoyable to learn about. You may never see this comment, Jeff.
But you encouraged me to take up a trade and get onto a better career path, keep up the great content!

I legitimately just watched you paint for a full 40 minutes and I wasn't bored at all... Nice work! Time to paint my place now!

OMG! You are the most professional painter I have ever seen. That, and I somehow spent 40 minutes watching a video about painting and wasn't bored.

Try taping the rim of the paint can, using masking tape, then u can pour the paint and simply pull the tape up to reveal a clean rim, which allows you to reseal the can tightly and helps the remaining paint stay good longer . You can even apply the masking tape in a V configuration!

One tip for people: When you first put the roller to the wall after dipping, roll upwards because it throws paint onto the wall. If you roll downwards 1st, it throws paint onto the floor.

Been painting for 13 years and I learned a few new things by keeping an open mind. Thanks for posting this!

My Dad used to be a painter and decorator. He's 78 now. He always said to remember The Six P's.

Lost my dad as a teen, hardly any other men in my family and I’ve been living by myself 5 years now with my own son now too. Really appreciate your videos you’re the next best thing to a diy guru I’ve got 😅

Been painting for 16 years professionally and I'd say for the average homeowner this is a great video. It's not really how the pros do it but it's definitely very close and will give you a nice result.

Some of the differences are that we typically use 18 inch rollers because theyre faster and leave more even lines. We use mini rollers for corners and back rolling brushed areas as its faster and reduces brush marks. Also with how good modern brushes are I would use a 2 inch brush. It's smaller so it can hit tighter spots, it's lighter so less hand fatigue and they hold plenty of paint. Theres some other things too but like I said he did a good video for home owners.

Also, one hundred percent sand between coats. That's my favorite tip of his

I've been DIYing for 40 years and flipping houses for 10 and I never thought I would learn so much from watching a guy paint a 6' wall. I watched this video last night knowing I had 2 bedrooms to paint in a flipper today. I stopped at the box store this AM and bought the 2-4' extension pole and the quick lock, ball-bearing cage and man....what a difference!! It was so much quicker then my old method, which is pretty much what this guy mocked as 'laborious'. He was right. I also bought an oversized tray that holds a full gallon and between the new paining method and no need for refills, I knocked everything out super quick. Thanks so much for the advice. It's a great video and very well presented!! :)

This comment is not about the painting. But you seem like a very nice and kind person. Seriously. I can tell that 😀 Good luck for everything man. Cheers.

I complainEd about the 40 minutes. What??? 40 minutes? I am not watching a 40 minute video!! Then I sat here and watched the whole thing—mesmerized. 😵 You’re totally hypnotic and compelling ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Update, your technique for painting absolutely rocks!! I have had a tremor since birth and I just painted my crown molding and got nothing on the ceiling!! I'm converted!! Thank you so much!

This was the most interesting painting video, and most helpful one as well. I cannot believe that I spent the whole 40 minutes of this video, worrying that the video would be too short for me to learn everything. You hit everything spot on, and left me wanting to watch more or your videos. Thank you so much for your help!

Finally, a painter on a DIY channel who seems to know what he's doing. I've discovered, when I'm cutting in the ceiling or base board line, that if I keep my eye travelling along the line itself, rather than on the tip of brush or on the paint, the brush automatically follows along nicely. This has resulted in much faster and cleaner cut-ins for me.

It is 4am, I need to paint absolutely nothing. But this seems just the kinda thing I need to learn. Dammit Youtube.
