said it before, will say it again I have been in and around music for over 52 years. This band by any standards is the finest in music today. Forget the hype and bullshit that is American Music. This is original, well written thought out composing. Created and performed by a group of people who are not only dedicated to touching and reaching their fans but everyone. That is a rare commodity these days especially in music. It is my wish for the band that this new project finally bitchslaps the rest of the world to see and hear what so many of us have come to realize already. This shows a band on the threshold of not just fame but of reaching legendary status. Never has any band earned or deserved that more than Lord Of The Lost. Thank you gentlemen I look forward to taking this new journey with you. Brava!!

This song introduces a wonderful new era. I love the style and mood of this video, the hazy blue light inside is like a cocoon against the bright warm light in the woods outside. Possible Easter eggs: 1. The shadowy figure/ghost in the room with Chris, which at one point is rushing around madly. 2. Maybe not relevant but there is a bird (Eurasian Jay) on the wall among the deer skulls. 3. The keyhole at the end with the light coming through - at the same time at the very end we hear the sound of an orchestra tuning up, which usually signifies the beginning of a performance of some opus. 🎶🖤

My favourite band just melodized the quintessence of being Goth 🥀♰ - to find beauty in sorrow, strength in melancholia, light in darkness, hope in despair and solace in contemplation.♰🖤♰ In music history, there have been many attempts to summarize the deeply profound sentiment of being elevated by sadness, of looking out of the window while the autumn rain is drowning the world in bleak enchantment, of being entranced by winter's last glacial breeze before spring is bringing renewal and rebirth upon us, of feeling spiritual bliss while being surrounded by candlelight and giving in to the surreal vastness of reflection - but none of those artistic endeavours encapsulated the life-changing emotion of delightful melancholy as much as Lord of the Lost are doing it here, while the revolutionary meaningful lyrics are being accompanied by an aeonically haunting chorus that evokes one of the most mesmerizing melodies they've ever written. What an energizing banger to start off the new era, what a wholesome introduction to "Opvs Noir Vol. 1"! You're using about three minutes to clothe all our worldviews, philosophies and feelings into words, and that's an undertaking millions of people would fail with. I mean, how to explain the beauty of darkness to a society that is constantly trying to run away from the dark sides of life just to be absorbed by false light? How to explain the elevating quality of melancholia to a majority that tries to avoid reflection and negative emotions at all cost? This message will only be understood by those who are willing to embrace all facets of life and existence, but that's making it even more wonderful... "Lost in the heaviness, the sweetest minor key" might be one of the core verses of the entire album trilogy, as it's exactly this elegiac escapism that will always equip us for all challenges in reality. What you are singing about might sound like a contradiction to those who have never been experiencing the sweetness of sorrow, but joy and sadness are two sides of the same bloody coin: There's no light without darkness, no life without death, no progress without life experience and no starlit sky without the all-encompassing black space. I haven't talked about the music yet, hm? I'm in a state of ecstasy when I listen to the style you seemingly returned to. We are back in the gloomy spheres, but there are still some neon lights to be seen in the distance and LOTL are catchier than ever before! I could continue writing an entire gothic novel, but I assume this heartfelt love letter is enough to express my eternal love for this sombre masterpiece.♰🖤🥀♰

It's not just a song for me, this genius piece by Chris touched my heart and soul deeply. Many will not understand the depth of this next masterpiece. It so brilliantly represents those moments of life when a person closes himself in himself and confronts inner demons, despair and loneliness🖤✨🌛.

Great opening track from the highly anticipated album. It’s like following a creative tornado of music, an unpredictable pathway of tremendous tracks and videos over the years. Chris and his band deserve all the credit for music with imagination and verve. So glad I found this artist and band many years ago. To watch them develop and create has been a wonderful journey!
