AFTERBUZZ TV -- Scandal is a weekly "after show" for fans of ABC's Scandal. In this show hosts Emile Ennis Jr., Sofia Stanley, Bamm Ericsen, and Kennelia Stradwick break down episode 9. Scandal is an American political thriller television series starring Kerry Washington. Created by Shonda Rhimes, it debuted on ABC on April 5, 2012. Kerry Washington's character, Olivia Pope, is partially based on former George H.W. Bush administration press aide Judy Smith, who serves as a co-executive producer. The show takes place in Washington, D.C. and focuses on Olivia Pope's crisis management firm, Olivia Pope & Associates, and its staff, as well as staff at the White House.

It was clear that it was not going to work, when Olivia said, seasons ago: " I don't want normal and easy and simple, I want painful, dificult devastatig..." I was not surprised, that she didn't want him the moment she could have him...she was still waiting for this to be worth it...

This episode I was beyond .. My heart was racing I couldnt even handle it Kanelia gets me all her analysis on on point! She sees the whole picture and is very objective with it. I can't wait for Feburary the Scandal 2.0 Returns. Mellie slayed its not all about Fitz he needs to change.

I no longer want Mellie to waste time ruining Fitz. He is irrelevant to her. This is what I wanted to see! Her political ambitions, her standing up for what she believes in. Fitz can sit alone & miserable while she is happy with her family for the first time since forever.

Olivia couldn't do for one week what Mellie did for 15 years. Their scenes together were amazing & I really want a friendship between them. I loved Olivia dropping all these truths on Fitz (but this is Scandal, they'll be back together in four episodes) & exposing his cruel & manipulative behavior. People cheered when he did it to Mellie (who he still won't stfu about), how'd you like it now when he does it to Olivia?

I don't get how anyone thinks they're soulmates. This episode just proved how miserable they make each other & how they don't even truly know one another. They whined for four seasons about deserving to be together but when they get everything they want, they implode. And the hypocrisy in some people online tearing Olivia to shreds for this episode smh.

Kennelia has always been my mouth piece. I can not fathom Olitz ever working as an official couple. Sofia's idea of soulmates rings true but not in the case of Olivia and Fitz. If one of them were to die, the other would not inwardly die as well, the other person would excel in life. The draw of Olitz is the fact that they are both damaged and they were each others escape from a life they loathed but Mellie and Big Jerry are gone so what does Fitz need to escape from. Now he is free to be his complete self around Olivia and like she said express the bad side of him as well. The can not be soul mates because Fitz is a soul sucker. He is a leech to everyone he comes in contact with and he is able to continue doing so because of his ignorance about his own "leechness" and the team around him given to him by privilege he received from Big Jerry. Olivia's has a thirst for the American Dream in addition to a hunger for individual success and she is unwilling to give up on both because they are both a part of her. She needs a man who can allow her to problem solve as well as come home at night to snuggle. Fitz's world literally shuts down the individual success side of her, making her half of the woman she is. That is not soulmates. That is anti-soulmates...fools soulmates.

I love that Mellie and Olivia have more in common with each other and now that Liv has seen the other side she has more empathy and understanding...
