Its normal when the recovery freezes when pressing 'System'
It happens to my device, i assume it runs the reboot binary and then the recovery freezes due to it being unmounted or the recovery stops the touch screen so the user does not cause an issue when pressing other buttons when a process is running.
Just like when your device starts to shutdown the touch screen switchs off and other kernel modules.
