this would honestly be my ideal smartphone if they'd make one with a silde-out keyboard, it just makes a lot of sense for something this small.

People are complaining about it being thick..I would take my device to be thicker any day if it means bigger battery. Especially for a device this small, the extra thickness ain't a deal breaker...and I wish my phone has the student mode as well.

I actually like the fact that it's thicker, I think a lot if not most phones today are thinner at the detriment of durability and handling. My main concern with this would be the size of the keyboard. Do you think someone could use this as a main phone? Not just as a secondary device for tedox.

I loved the OG Jelly2 but I was very disappointed that Unihertz didn't do one single software update for a year and a half. I would buy the new one in a heartbeat if I only knew that they actually would support it in the future not just forget about it. It is great and cheap, but it isn't cheap if you consider that you will have to throw it away after three months because it has become a security hazard. :P

This reminds me of the phones everyone started using when they were 3 and 4" phone before they got larger.

It is admirable that they're still sticking to their guns with launching these enthusiast devices. That being said they must not have good quality control. My Titan Pocket sim tray has not been functioning now for months.

The Jelly 2e in some ways reminds me of my Blackberry Torch 9810 from back in the day. They have the same size screen and the virtual keyboards are remarkably similar other than color. Essentially the J2e is a modern version of the Torch. Honestly, if Unihertz would make a version of the J2E with a physical keyboard as well as the virtual one, it'd be a ideal device for me.

FINALLY someone talks about student mode. I have been trying to find something like this for any smartphone. It's the best blocking app there is and is almost as smooth as iPhone app specific blocking. Being a system app, when something is blocked, that's it, it's blocked. Anyone know something this efficient (other than that yellow unbloc key?)

If Apple wanted to, they could make a iPhone Nano that would be smaller than a 1st Gen iPhone SE.

i can list a few things why this is much better than the lightphone 2...

- mobile payments(QR?)
- document scanning
- you can actually use good ol maps..
more!

you see this is what LightPhone 2 doesnt get with distractionless phone is that they just throw all the GOOD innovation that doesn't interfere with our attention

Waterproof and wireless charging. I'd already have 1 if they included these.

Hi! Thank you for your videos! I just watched the Jelly series and was wondering if the Jelly 2E has voice to text? I saw that Walmart is selling the Jelly Star, but it does not specify whether or not it is unlocked. I was wondering if there is a quick way to figure this out? I'm keen on being able to easily return it if necessary, otherwise I'd look into other vendors as well.

I'm interested in this phone but have two concerns:
1. Does it work with the minimalistphone launcher or another similar OS overlay?
2. I go to a lot of concerts and keep my tickets on my phone. Will people be able to scan barcodes off the screen or will the screen be too small?

If they made a smartphone, in 2005 lol. I really want one now honestly.

Thanks for the review, was considering to buy this and was confused whether i should go with Jelly2. I need a device that is minimalist but still has outlook and teams installed and want to take conference calls occasionally. With just 4gb Ram and downgraded processor from Jelly 2 would 2E be sufficient? Will really help if you could help me with this.

Re: student mode. When it's activated, does it also block phone calls and texts. My current phone has a focus mode but it also automatically activates Do Not Disturb, which I don't necessarily want, because it becomes a defacto airplane mode. I want to moderate my usage, but I don't want to miss important texts from my husband, others, etc.

Regardless of price, would you rather recommend the Jelly 2 or Jelly 2E?

The fact that a tiny phone like that has space for a headphone jack and full size devices apparently don't lol
