don't overlook bungie's use of facial expressions to show Zavala's lack of experience. as Zavala grew in experience his facial expressions became more stern and serious compared to his chronologically younger self who showed expressions of confusion, awe, and fear.

So Guardians keep no memory of their lives before their first, resurrection but could they keep certain personality traits or skills? Examples: Caydes gambling issue or Zevala having an inclination for leadership due to him captaining a ship before he died.

So guardians don't age physically, but mentally. They age through their experiences.

another evidence is in the d2 trailer of Zavala in the end it shows Zavala looking up above in the tower with other people to the city under them, while showing Holiday(the person who gives the chaperone and ships/sparrows)as a little girl. and as you can see now in d1 she is a young adult and zavala is still looking young as ever 👌🔥🔥🔥also myelin i will support you still even if you don't do anymore Destiny lore(although PLEASE DONT GIVE UP)

Zavala! great video! it was very clever to show time passing by the use of Zavala's Armour becoming more powerful. definately one of my favourite cut scenes ! also seeing a young Holiday seeing the original ship flying towards the traveller was nicely done !

I can't tell for sure, but I believe Zavala has fewer wrinkles at the beginning of the trailer. This wouldn't be because he ages throughout the trailer, but because at the beginning he has not experienced the centuries of stress commanding not only a legion of Titans, but all large-scale military endeavours would undoubtedly bring.

I've watched lore videos before, but ever since your Eris and Crota video I've watched almost each and every one of them. Hopefully, Bungie doesn't screw up the accessibility to lore for you guys in the lore community. I'd hate to have to wait weeks or months on end for the next video.

And when Zavala first wears his current armor on the Tower's courtyard he smiles at a young girl's awe as she watches a ship zoom past and I think that young freckled girl is Holiday.

it also could be because his armor gets bigger and bulkier when he's older but it appears that Zevala gains more muscle mass as he ages

"Young Zavala" was just resurrected so he would look more weak and unstable. (And died from a few Vandal using spears)
It's not about age

Also, can Guardian age?
Yes, the first second their ghost resurrect them, they had been reborn into the world.
From that time, they age not by their appearance and actual age. But they age their experience.

Also back to Zavala. Since he was 'reborn', he would've look more fearful, skinny, weak, and unskilled. Since Years pass by, he would look more healthy than his 'young self'.

Saladin appearance, for example, may had been Old but as he was shown in the ROI trailer, his movement is more flexible and young. Now he sounds like an old military veteran with a body of a young grandpa; not even knowing what Halloween- I mean Festival of the _-Cost-_ Lost is.

The Appearance may stay but the Mind will age... unless you're an Exo, where all you need to do is the protect your memory from resetting.
Which is why Cayde-6 relied on Gambling, cause it's the deck that he holds is the memories he is close to.
He may be lazy and annoying, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have feeling.

another point in the "aging" of Zavala, when he's first resurrected, he has no clue what's going on, he's truly a newbie and his expressions show that, he has fear in his eyes and lacks resolve. Over time as he develops, becomes stronger and more confident in his strength, he develops a more stern, stoic look. It could also perhaps be a numbness from dying so many times but not actually dying...

when zavala was revived it made me think how he was revived as an awoken, as i know it the awoken were once human but adapted to their home (the reef), so how was it possible that someone who likely died on Earth during or before the collapse came back as an awoken?

that Zavala animation was spectacular! really gave us the perfect visual of how Guardians are risen and a better look at the time before the City. so excited for Destiny 2, vanilla player

I also noticed that as he grew "older" the special effects that awoken have with their skin became more relevant. I wondered if this was showing his stronger connection to the light. When he is first revived, you don't really see any skin glow, but towards the end it gets pretty obvious.

What Order is Zavala in? I would assume the Pilgrim Guard, as he helped build the City and kept refugees alive before the Walls were raised.

Man, it must suck to be old THEN become immortal. Imagine if every moment of the rest of your immortal life was dedicated to fighting off SIVA and you had to deal with an aged body slowing you down the whole war.
