Back by popular demand! After the incredible popularity of the first solo yacht docking video that I posted, I thought it was time for an update.

This video will walk you through the pre and post departure steps to take with this Sirena Yachts 58 Flybridge. We take a little deeper look at the electrical panel and switching from shore power to generator. We also spend a little more time talking about the electronics and features they have. Last, but certainly not least, we go through the steps of taking this yacht off of the dock and coming back to the dock, while solo. Follow along as I walk through some of the steps I take and planning that I do, in order to have a successful docking and undocking of a large yacht.

Stay tuned, plenty more videos to come!

Very well done !
This reminded me of when I was between 10 till 16 years old. Our parents had a sail boat on the lake. No engine. If the wind was wrong you had to push and pull, use ropes and the reap hook, and all you needed to get on your way. There were people who paddled 20, 30 maybe 50 meters before they hoisted the sails to be safe out of the harbor. When they came back this went the same way in return. I never ever needed to do that. My father learned me from day one how to it. How to read the wind, make use of it. It could be chaotic and noisy with a lot of sail flapping around. And it never went wrong. We pushed the boat out of the berth and pushed it around with the reap hook and we were off sailing. Within a few weeks I did this solo. It was so satisfying do be able to do such things. Best memories with my father.

You didn’t dock, you KISSED the dock 👍 Amazing skills, great explanations and commentary!!

This is very useful, as we 60 foot yacht owners need this information…

Very helpful! Thank you for the instruction. Docking a 65’ solo is my goal. It’s fun watching you stay ahead of the boat and whatever’s about to happen. Getting the fenders prepped while the wind pushed you toward your dock was a nice takeaway for me. All the best!

Getting better and better Dan, Fantastic video, I could imagine I was the new owner and you were giving me a quick refresher course on how to handle my new boat. If I were the new owner I'm not sure I'd put much trust in that remote and ask how hard it would be to install a port and starboard stern control stations ?, these days they're all fly by wire anyways aren't they. Thanks Dan and keep em coming.

As an ex-boat owner, this brings back great memories. I loved turning on systems when readying the boat.

Man you get A+ from me my captain Friend 😊😊😊. The walk through of the PANAL was excellent 👍👍👍. You are showing how to get a big vessel up and running from start( what to do to disconnect) shore power. There is a learning curve. For me personally have seen so many boaters operate there vessels like a car. Totally different. A boater MUST have someone like you that walks them through the START up. I am going to watch your video. Even though I had only a 24 footer. I had a professional operator ( class) do all the things you did. The amazing thing with him. Is he showed me the moving of my 24 at low speed for turning and docking. Something so many NEW boaters need TRAINING on. There is an ART to moving a vessel at slower speeds. ❤😊❤😊

This video is absolutely spectacular. I’m a pilot (airplane) but know little about vessels, yet I’m just starting to look into getting a “yacht”. This instructional covers so much, thank you for the time and equipment you put in!!! Cheers, Pete
