Junji ito's art will never be done justice just like kentaru miura with berserk. Their art is too intricate and too essential for the tones they go for and would require either half measure's or extreme sacrifice to get it out as a series

Directors say funding got cut because the producers didn't like how expensive it was to make that first episode. So they finished the series with what was left.

This is just so disappointing, we waited YEARS. They even held off the release so that the quality would stay good and consistent. This is just so frustrating, especially after what we got on Tales of horror on Netflix

This is why you never watch non-shonen anime. Always read the manga unless it's an adaptation that hits, which is usually rare.
