VHB’s innovative “peanut roundabout” design was the cornerstone of increasing safety and access at the City of Worcester's Kelley Square.

Working closely with MassDOT, the consultant team, and the Worcester community, VHB created a solution that better defined traffic patterns, increased bicycle and pedestrian safety, and enhanced access to local businesses.

They need to bring back the old Kelly Sq. The peanut is so stupid and Worcester has been re-imagining itself for 4 DECADES and still failing. What IDIOT puts a crosswalk through an intersection like this. If you want people walking through here there needs to be a pedestrian OVERPASS. The peanut is just as world renowned for a failure as the old Kelly Sq. You mention it and people in other COUNTRIES know what you're talking about and they laugh about our stupidity at road design. What a joke. Worcester fails again. The reduction in crashes is because there's so much less traffic in the area. Worcester is a shadow of it's former self with virtuall NO foot or car traffic in the downtown area. I avoid the peanut like it's toxic. I'll drive around the outside of the city to avoid it at all costs. Considering there is NOTHING downtown to go to or do I can get to anything I need to by avoiding the city center completely. And I've lived in and around Worcester for 67 years.
