Cirrus SR20 Cross -Country || Alabama to Texas || IFR Approach to minimums @ night! || Pt.2

We have a wedding to attend in Utah... in February... so of course we are flying our Cirrus SR20! In this video we finish a quick fuel stop and depart Huntsville Alabama (KHSV) on an IFR flight to Gainesville Texas. It's IMC most of the way, except for an unexpected but very welcome sunset just before flying the approach into Gainesville (KGLE). Without a doubt, the most beautiful sunset we have experienced in our lives, and a sight for sore eyes after battling headwinds and IMC all day long! #flightvlog #thecirruslife

Weather was forecast to be good, but instead we flew an approach to minimums and at night. That was unplanned, but a fun and confidence building challenge!

This will be a multi-part series where we will document each leg of our flying journey. Our route will take us from North Carolina, through Alabama, Texas, Albuquerque New Mexico, St. George Utah, and finally ending up in Provo Utah. We fly through IMC, over the plains, over the Grand Canyon, over snow capped mountains, and more. It is a beautiful journey! Thanks for coming along!

Found your channel while looking for sr20 stuff. I'm blown away seeing a young family flying around like this. So adorable. I raised my 3 children alone from the time they were 8, 4, & 1 to adulthood. I loved the long trips to see family every year in the car. I always tried to make it fun for them. Watching you fly with your kids is so cool. Really enjoyed watching. Cute couple too. 💑

Excellent video and flying! I've been considering an SR20 but read a lot of posts refer to it as a trainer, but i'd say your video is proof it is Obviously more than a trainer if you're not into spending the $$$ for the 22. Also if you're smart you can avoid the weather requiring the FIKI capability. Again well done.

How did you end up with the door ajar? Is it ajar or the seals bad? Yikes.

Wow I was really paying attention. Now that we are safely down who is the band there in the middle and at the end? Sounds like Shania Twain? :) Good job captain.
