A passenger documented an ordeal he had on a “29 hour” flight to Berlin in a TikTok video, on which a child screamed for the duration of the journey.

Footage shows Henry Beasley, member of New Zealand band Balu Brigada, sat on a plane while a child screeches in the background.

The musician’s eye twitches as the child’s screams ring out across the aircraft.

“The kid’s got some lungs,” Beasley said.

“Great projection,” he added, rating a scream.

This is a legit concern for long flights. Being trapped in the air with a screeching kid for hours is a nightmare

This is where noise cancelling headphones pay for themselves.

I could deal with a baby crying (It's a baby. They don't wanna be there either, it's loud, their ears hurt) but an ill-behaved screaming toddler? Absolutely not.

Been thru this before. A couple bought their baby on thr plane with an ear infection and the kid cried the entire flight. I wasn’t mad at the kid but pissed with the parents.

I can deal with crying babies, I understand they don’t have control over that but a toddler and the fact the parents are letting this continue on for that long is like a nightmare like dawg please calm your child

I once went to an opera and there was a baby crying. Who the f takes a baby to a live concert where the musciians have no speakers and thud can get distracted very easily? I was pissed off. Then after the 1st act the parents got out.

I don’t understand how babies have the lung capacity to scream for so long. It’s actually insane

When I watched Transformers for the first time there was a baby crying in the theater. Finally someone in the audience yelled ‘shut that baby up!’, and the person got up and took the baby outside 😂

My nephew is so chill. Once he walked around the plane, found a random grandma and "talked" with her half of the flight

There should be penalties for parents that don't or choose not to control their children

I get called weird for me and my wife waiting until our child is 5 to fly all the time.

Sometimes it may be a necessity, but at that age they cannot procces their emotions well enough. Teething, Rash, cabin pressure, smells, the list goes on.

They get overwhelmed easy. I am just as concerned as I heard no calming of the child either.

All around a bad situation.

I just had a 13 hour flight where a 2-3 year old boy was screaming like this non-stop for 10 hours and kicking my seat. I’ve flown my whole life and this was definitely THE worst flight in my life. I didn’t complain to the parents as it doesn’t help and they looked stress. (And the mom didn’t look like the friendliest person)
Maybe-maybe I can bear the screaming and crying but the kicking was awful.
My mother flew alone with a 2 and 4 year old on an 18 hour flight in the 70’ies to follow our father as expats. We surely didn’t behave like this nor do I remember having any pain in my ears. (We’ve flown many times during our infant years too) In those days there was also no entertainment system and we kids were happy with the coloring book and crayons the flight attendant gave us.

While I do have sympathy for parents who try their very best - there are far too many “kids will be kids” type of parents who do not consider people in their surroundings at all. I feel for this guy’s stress level with his twitching eye.

And he is not the only passenger there, there's probably more people who reduced their sanity by 25%

That's an older child. It's that infant scream that really gets you psychologically. So so hard.

The fact that kids can scream this long is astonishing.

To the ones who thought the 8 hour flight was bad. This is WORSE.

I once had a 33 hour Train journey, And god blessed me with 3 infant passengers in the same coach. The screams came in waves bruh.

This sounds like a scream of pain to me. This child could have pressure build up in his ears. That happens when children are at a high altitude. Sometimes chewing gum helps them "pop" their ears so the pain goes away.

I have been seated next to an Arabic woman and her two crying kids. She just sat there doing nothing and here I am trying to engage them and using my iPad to get them to do something other than crying.

It was hell.
