The fact that the mom isn’t really doing anything to try to control her son is just infuriating

This wasn't a distressed child or a child with special needs. This was a pure tantrum because he is always allowed to do what he wants to, by his parents.

There is a massive difference in cries and screams when a child is upset, scared, nervous etc

I get a child being a child, but there is a point when it's the parents' fault. He doesn't care bc he knows there isn't going to be any consequences.

They should have been made to leave the plane before it took off and not allowed to board a new flight until mom had control of the child. This is unacceptable. He's not crying. He's screaming.

When I went to Austria, there was a child on board whom started acting exactly like this. The pilot & air attendants made us wait 2 hours to see if the child would calm down and he didn’t. So they had to leave the plane and we finally got to take off. That’s what should have been done here without a doubt. (Maybe not two hours wait time but you get the idea)

If the plane was still one the ground while the child started screaming, why didn't the air line just kick them off??

Meanwhile, I was once on a flight from L.A. to Australia (13 hour flight) and two parents boarded with a toddler and an infant. Everyone on the plane cringed inwardly, but once we were in the air they had a little bassinet that folded down from the wall for the baby (didn't even know that was a thing!) and the toddler put on her pyjamas and slept most of the way. It was miraculous.

I was four in the 60’s on a 10 hour flight. No computers or in-flight movies then. My mum says I looked out the window, chatted about the clouds, amazed at the sea and land below, fell asleep, ate a meal and was polite to the airline staff. Children were like that in those days. My mum say that you never saw children behave like that, but that kid was not happy at all. There may have been a good reason for that.

The child even climbed on top so everyone can see and hear him. That’s good parenting alright….

They should all get refunds, and the parents need to figure out how to control their child. I know plenty of 3 year olds, and none of them act like this for 8 hours straight 🙄

This was featured on Inside Edition which reported his mother told the flight attendants that he struggled with behavioral problems.

Several passengers noted the mother basically just toned out the screaming and acted like she was used to it
