Too Sexy for Church Appeal: When Does Cleavage Become Sinful?

Actress Meagan Good, a Christian, has often been criticized for wearing clothing viewed as too sexy. Meanwhile NBA player Stephen Curry's wife sparked a Twitter fury over her preference for modest clothing. When is too much skin a sin?

The lady that stood up to speak about how this young lady was dressed told the truth. If we are proclaiming Christ we are not to dress like the world, we are to dress modest.

how can you be inspiring and uplifting when a woman who professes to be a Christian acts like a harlot. if I were a member of their church I would be ashamed and not ever go there again

Isn't it our responsibility to cover up? I mean the Bible says if you look upon a woman and have sinful thoughts you've committed adultery. Anyone who dresses in a bad way would in my opinion bare the same responsibility. How can we uplift one another if we follow what the world does.

Of course she s a beautiful woman. Anyone can see she is beautiful. So what? She would still be just as beautiful dressing more modestly. Dressing modest and classy would actually enhance her beauty even more. It's such a shame she cannot see that. Just my two cents as a plain, middle aged woman.

A little lesson in history, the Mother Hubbard, popular in the turn of the century which we would definitely consider very modest dress nowadays was considered "indecent" for women to wear outside the home since it was un-corseted.
This high collared, long dress with long puffy sleeves was also widely used in areas like the Polynesian Islands to make natives appear more modest.... shall we go back to that?

"You will know them by their fruit"... dressing is one thing, her life is another. how she dresses can well be influenced by the world of entertainment which she is involved in and she may change her mind about it eventually. but how is her lifetyle? is she humble and teachable in all other areas? is she learning to obey the Lord even with what roles she chooses to play?
What her husband said though in her defense was haughty and hasty. we don't do anything or "wear anything we want in the name of Jesus". that's not what the Bible teaches. I commend him for defending his wife but I hope he realizes what he said in haste.
