But backflushing without a cleaner doesn't do that much. Coffeeoil is so damn sticky. Without a cleaner it won't come off. So in my opinion: Backflush only with a cleaner, everything else doesn't make that much sense and you just waste your time and water.

Thank you for the tip, just pulled my first shot today with a new DF83 gen 3 and Bambino Plus, such a difference in taste from the Bean To Cup (expensive!) machine we had been using! I rinsed out the portafilter and basket and then used one of those high pressure battery powered air guns to give it a good blast after 👍

I have the DeLonghi dedica coffee machine. I don't think it has a back flushing piece. Is there any other way to clean it?

Does using a puck screen on top of your grounds help with keeping the machine clean?

Back flush every day?? Even once a week sounds crazy. But it does look pretty easy. :-D

The water that runs back, where does it go before it comes out.

Put about 1/4 teaspoon of cleaning powder in your blind basket and then back flush for around 4 seconds, do that around 5 times with new cleaner every time. Then run the water or use this to run some test shots to calibrate your grind size (5 or more shots will be needed). That should be a little more thorough than only using water. And of course don't forget to disassemble and clean the parts individually as well of course

Do we run a single shot with blind basket or use the pre programmed function to perform back flush? Is there any difference?
