That grinder costs $4.3k USD if anyone is curious. Weber Workshops is the brand.

This coffee grinder is the EG-1, it's $4, 295 in black. The scale says Varia on it, looks like the $99 AKU model. The kettle looks like a Stagg EKG Pro, $180. The Moonraker WDT tool is $275 (edit: changed from $475, it's not the "ultra"), and the Flair 58+ espresso maker is $640. I can't tell what the tamper is, but the total so far is $5, 489 without coffee beans.

Imagine if this was your morning drink, you’d never actually make it to work

Just the complete description of how the process is done makes me want a cup, and then seeing the extraction color and texture so satisfying.

I hate coffee but the amount of knowledge and passion you have for it makes it impossible not to be enthralled in your videos as you go on about it

i love how you’re the only one who doesn’t take himself so seriously and isn’t a pretentious douche ❤

I appreciate the pressure gauge explanations. I would appreciate more information about how the pressure can affect extractions.

I could totally "nerd out" in the coffee realm. I enjoy diving into "rabbit holes" and this one seems extremely satisfying.

Very nerdy 10/10.

for mortals still doing pour-over, there's just two things I can recommend "getting right" that will elevate your experience.
1. Let your boiling water cool a bit, if it's too hot your coffee will be bitter. If you're using an electric boiler, let it cool for a minute.
2. Use freshly ground coffee beans. Pre-grinding removes a lot of flavour. While pre-roasting also does, it's a lot more of a hassle to acquire non-roasted beans and roasting yourself, so just make sure that you only grind as much coffee as you need and do it right before you need it so it's as fresh as possible.

Your preferred roast level and grain size is in your control too, so don't be afraid to experiment.

Fun fact. Store bought pre-ground typically has cockroach fragments, so getting a cheap grinder or grinding the beans at the store from whole beans is preferable. Unless you're after the extra protein.
