VW Passat would misfire on and off for months. Engine and RMP would rev/ car would bounce. Got to the point it would just randomly die while at a stop light. VW mechanics and another shop couldn’t trace the engine code that randomly comes on and off. Spent over $1000 trying to fix this. So far this is working! Thank you!

Thank you bro! This is exactly what my issue was with my 2017 VW Passat R Line. I had a shop that specializes in VWs and the dealership not figure it out. I went through so much for 2+ years before coming across this video and fixing it myself. Once again thank you

I had one, about a month back, on a Passat that I replaced same part on. It would intermittently run rough. The plunger seemed to work ok when you would flip it over..must of had a week plunger or solenoid. The thing set like 10 codes all from that one issue lol. Lean codes, misfire codes, timing codes, fuel pressure codes..crazy that one part could set all that. Knowing what data pids to look at helped a ton though. Good find 👍

they tend to misfire when cold, the pin gets stuck with oil slug, as the slug in the magnet warms it works normal. Shot parts cleaner straw through the small holes. The pin will free fall when cleaned no need to buy a new one.

True. I was saying for testing. I have one that has a misfire that jumps around, sometimes it’s 1 and 3 or 3 and 4. Coils and plugs are good. I still have to do a compression check, and I have no intake leaks.

The dealer tried to charge me $650 to replace this. I did it myself with an amazon part, works like a charm!

I just used carb clean in the inside of the hole 2-3 time that cleaned it but make sure you use the straw than hit it with some all purpose lubricant inside and out and fixed the problem but make sure you spray the lub good

Had the same problem. P0011 code. Didn't replace it..used a multipurpose lubricant by spraying into one of the holes..went out from the other hole with some thick sludge..and vice versa. Code cleared and no more misfires.

Lol if youre going to replace the magnet you might as well replace the camshaft sensor snd value spindle, the spindle is in where the magnet goes, you can see it where the magnet is removed. If your going to remove the magnet might as well replace that lil bastard as well. Also for these engines, change your oil regularly, 5w -40 european oil.
