Jesus wouldn't just rename Simon if he wasn't important. Jesus always had a different plan for St. Peter.

My problem with this answer is that it doesn’t prove papal infallibility at all it just shows us Peter was chosen as possibly head of the Church and disciples but to go from that to infallibility is a jump are we just inferring/assuming infallibility then?

I struggle with the idea of the pope being infallible because of passages like Galatians 2:11-14. The apostle Paul rebukes/corrects the apostle Peter for acting in a hypocritical manner (meaning he sinned/was wrong) by withdrawing from the gentiles due to fear of the circumcision group. This Galatians passage was obviously after Jesus made Peter the “pope/infallible” (according to catholic tradition). The apostle Peter was an amazing man of God who went on to die for the gospel, but he had moments where he sinned - just like all of us. for this reason, I struggle with interpreting passages the way this video does. However, if anyone could clarify if I’m wrong or misunderstanding what infallible means, that would be appreciated. God bless🙏🏼✝️

Watch the entirety of the Old Testament and new support the Catholic Church, who also canonized the Bible. Sacred scripture and sacred tradition.
One true Church, unified and universal, till the end of time.

He was predicting Peter’s denial and he told him that he prayed that his faith MAY not fail not that it WILL not fail he prayed that his faith will not fail completely to the point of not seeing the lord’s forgiveness and leaving that he will turn from his sin and strength his brothers

So thats why the "infallible" Peter was corrected by Paul on the matter of circumcision? Galatians 2:11-14

I think this interpretation of Luke 22 is a stretch but I can see where you are coming from. Interesting perspective even if I don’t agree fully.

Luke 22:31 when Jesus calls out Simon Peter, he has moved on from the previous conversation about who is the greatest. We see this throughout scripture, where you are have 1 conversation and it skips to another. Jesus called out Peter because he had a Prophecy or warning for him, saying that the devil wants to sift (separate) him from the others. We know this because in vs 32 Jesus says that once Peter had returned to Him, he (Peter) should strengthen others... also, I have heard a defence saying Peter is the rock that the church will be built. But that is not what Jesus said... Jesus said it is the truth the Peter stated (Jesus is the son of God) that is the rock that the church will stand... there is no Pope in the bible...

I have a genuine question for Christian’s, who’s greater then in the sight of God, Peter or Joseph, Moses, Issac, Noah, I.e. the prophets mentioned in the bible? Is Peter higher in status than the prophets mentioned in the bible?

There is no biblical or historical evidence for the claims of the Roman Catholic church that Peter was the first pope.

Maybe Paul should be the Voice of Reason. You know…..since he rebukes Popes.
